Our holiday party on Friday, Dec. 5th was enjoyed by all. It was a temperate evening and a great crowd showed up to look at our gallery improvements, and enjoy a studio open house. After doing this a few times we've gotten better at having the right amount of food and beverage, and this time ran short of nothing except a little red wine. It's always the red wine!
It was wonderful seeing family and a real mix of friends within the stained glass and fused glass industry, along with many past and present clients. Two of those were Senator Bob Packwood and his wife Elaine, who like many people, had not yet been to our new location and seen our new showroom. A few years ago we did a leaded glass entry for the Senator and Elaine and it was a pleasure seeing them again, as it was with so many people.
Within in the industry many of the usual suspects showed up including our friends from Manion Company, McCormick and Schmicks offices, Terry Welter from Cline Glass Co. and Ray Ahlgren and Melissa Cate from
Fire ArtWe recently added a few new display walls in the showroom where we can now backlight some stained glass and sandblasted glass panels. Combined with our fused glass, mosaic glass work, and new stained glass divider, it made for a look that seemed to go over well. The last of the crowd drifted out about 10 pm and after a little reflection and cleanup, Carol and I wistfully locked the door and went home at midnight.
